“After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. I’m trying to free your mind, Neo”
– Morpheus, “The Matrix” –
The 1999 box office smash hit, “The Matrix” with Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne.
What a film.
Remember it? Neo (Keanu Reeves) is offered a choice by the rebel leader, Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne).
Take the blue pill to have security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion.
Take the red pill to have knowledge, freedom, uncertainty, and the brutal truths of reality.
The blue pill represented a beautiful prison. Living in ignorance, but without want or fear, in the simulated reality of ‘The Matrix’.
The red pill offered an uncertain future but the satisfaction of knowing the truth of reality even though it is often harsh and difficult to face.
For the purpose of this email, I’m Morpheus, and you are Neo. Just without the long black capes.
I’m giving you a choice now.
You can take the blue pill and stay exactly where you are right now.
Unhappy, overweight and with health problems around the corner, if they aren’t here already.
Miserable, maybe hating how you look, feeling like you have no energy, and being a poor role model for your children. Comfortable being uncomfortable.
Or, you can take the red pill.
The red pill is making a commitment to change. Changing your diet, your health, and ultimately changing your life. Losing weight and becoming happy, full of energy, pride, and loving life.
Becoming a better role model for your family, your children, and yourself. This is by far the harder choice, but the one that ultimately leads to fulfilment and greatness.
What’s it going to be?
The blue pill or the red pill?
Choose wisely my friend.
Your life literally depends on it.
If you chose the blue pill, you should put this book down right now.
It won’t help you. No hard feelings, but your time will be best spent elsewhere.
If you chose the red pill, I salute you.
You’ve just made one of the toughest decisions there is to make. The great thing is, you won’t regret it for a second, and you won’t ever look back.
Metaphors aside, you can decide in a heartbeat, “enough is enough. I need to make changes and they start right here, now, today”.
Great. That means you took the right path. Welcome. Your life officially gets better from here on in.
Firstly, I want to tell you about an old client of mine.
We’ll call him Jim, because that was his name.
He was receiving my daily emails for the best part of two years.
He told me when he started working with me that he sat on the fence for two years saying, “I must do something about this”.
He knew he was 40lbs overweight and that his life wasn’t where he wanted it to be.
Ultimately, he was the one who had to email me, pull the trigger, take action, and join my programme.
Something he read one morning in one of my emails was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Whatever it was spurred him on to finally respond to the email. He joined my coaching programme and I helped him lose 40lbs and never find them again.
Jim was a classic example of someone who was in a lot of pain and knew he needed to make some big changes in his life.
Jim chose the red pill, but it took him two years to make a decision.
Tony Robbins says, “We all get what we tolerate”.
Many people are comfortable enough being uncomfortable that they don’t do anything about it, which is an awful scenario to be in.
I know you might be sitting there thinking, “I don’t even know where to start, I don’t know how to do this, and I just haven’t got time”.
Everyone’s busy and most people don’t know what to do. Read on. You’ve got to this point. You’ve picked up my book. You’ve made a decision. You actually want to pull the trigger.
Read to the end of this book and I promise I won’t let you down. Let’s make some real differences to your health and ultimately your life.
You took the red pill remember?
The above is Chapter 3 of my new book, The GHG Method. <===
