There are only two types of primary fears

The 6 Human Needs
1) Certainty – some are empowering, some disempowering
2) Uncertainty – variety is the spice of life
These are the main 4. If you have 3 or more needs met, you will become addicted, positively and negatively.
5) Growth – you must grow. If you don’t grow, you die

3 steps to lasting change
1) Get leverage – get the person to feel/be certain that failing to change now equals massive and immediate unbearable levels of pain
2) Interrupt or annihilate the pattern
3) Create a new empowering pattern and reinforce it until its a habit

In a study, they took trained actors into the car park of a super market. The actor went up to someone and with a identical rehearsed script, asked the person to hold their drink as they did their shoe lace up.
The people that held the drink were then surveyed and the results were incredible.
If the drink was a hot coffee, 80% said that the person was warm hearted and kind
If the drink was an iced coffee, 80% said that person was cold and mean looking.
Two types of motivation
1) Push – constantly pushing towards the goal
2) Pull – being pulled by the goal/mission
Your goals should have lots of pull, not just push!
